Well, well, well. The theme of round 5, especially for my game, was everything coming full circle.
Let me start off with the vote out of Carley. Basically, word had spread to probably everyone in the game that her, Sam, and Aren (arrrr-en, like a pirate) were a threesome (woah!). And Don and her apparently had beef from another game so Don targeted her like a heat seeking missile, which was alright by me because my relationship with Carley is non-existent, while I do have a relationship with the alternative option, Jeff. So once Don made it very clear he would vote for Carley, I was all aboard the Don train. Sadly, Steffen wanted to talk to me before the vote which I was trying to avoid because I did not want to lie to him about the vote, but I couldn't tell him because he had the idol and I needed him to waste it on himself so that should we have lost again, he wouldn't have it. So I told him during our talk that I heard Jeff was the vote and while I was okay with that, I had reservations about what that meant should we lose again and Austin be immune for whatever reason. I did this strategically so that once the votes were revealed he would be able to rationalize my vote immediately and not feel like I duped him. This is where it all comes full circle, because obviously I was played hard by people I trusted the night Ben went home, so I knew this was going to be a similar situation in which I played the role of the "shady bitch". But, because this had happened to me I felt like I knew how to go about it before and after the move, so that Steffen didn't feel completely betrayed by me, and I knew to message him immediately it happened and explained the situation, and then hopped on call with him, and proceeded to throw Don under the bus and cover my own ass by explaining what had happened and my mindset (which I had previously laid out to him) and that I know exactly how he feels. I think it worked too, because he didn't seem too upset with me and he called with me for like an hour last night. Even if he doesn't trust me completely (which, like, why should he) he does see me as somebody he can play with.
The other part of this situation was Lizzie, who is my real ally on this tribe. This isn't to say I'm not allied with the others, because I am, it's just that I think Lizzie is looking at me as a long term ally, as I am with her. So, I told Lizzie about this plan and she was fine with it, but she (we? more her, but I cosigned it) decided that unless Don was going to tip her off that she would vote for Jeff and cause a 4-3 blindside. This is because if she had voted for Carley, people would've wondered how she knew, and they could've traced it back to me, which would've compromised us and our alliance, so this puts separation between us, which is good. I'm sure Lizzie had her own personal gains from this move as well, but I'm not going to analyze what they might be right now, but I'll keep them in mind down the road.
It's kinda like deja vu because of the blindside (which every tribal I've voted at has been) but also because of what happened on the other tribe at their tribal.
Jermaine went home, and while I personally liked Jermaine, the vindictive bitch in me was pumped, because he was absolutely unnecessarily messy and shady at the first tribal when I trusted him. He (and Jeff, and to an extent Michael) dictated exactly how this game was going to be played at that first tribal, and it blew up in his face. Jermaine is a great player and a great social player, I knew that and saw that he was a threat, which is why I am excited he left in addition to him seeing his game get blown up in his face. Really, a thing of beauty that he brought upon himself.
Jeff got the Soulmate power, he says it's individual immunity at the next tribal he goes too. Which seems shitty but that's fine for me.
Carex lost again, because they are cursed. I think Jenn will be safe (*knocks on wood*) because I don't see Teddy and Tierra turning on her. Additionally, I bet the Jermaine vote was 6-1, so the alternative target for tonight Sam, might not suspect it if it is him tonight. I think it's a toss up between Sam and Michael, and honestly, they both can go. So I'll be looking forward to see what happens over there tonight.
I feel like I've set myself up well over here on Yurbaco, but I could see it turning on a dime. I really want this tribe to win it's way to the merge, because I think everyone over here is an option to play the game with, while some people on Carex are not. I'm hopeful the Jenn will be able to navigate herself to the merge should they lose out.
But tonight, I have tribal off for the first time all game, so this is me tonight:
